2. Data we process
Account data — your email address and login credentials (and your name where you provide it).
Billing data — the information needed to issue your invoice (name or business name, address, VAT number where you are a business) and the record that a payment was made. Your card details are entered with and handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
Usage and technical data — limited data such as IP address, device and browser type, and log data needed to operate and secure the service.
The loan figures you enter (country, amount, rate, duration) are processed only to generate your comparison and are not stored on our servers or linked to your account.
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process account and billing data to provide the service and perform our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and to comply with our legal, accounting and tax obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). We process usage and technical data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the service (Article 6(1)(f)). Any non-essential analytics or cookies are used only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Recipients
We rely on a small number of carefully selected providers acting as our processors — for cloud hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, transactional email, aggregate usage measurement and security. They process data only on our instructions and under a data-processing agreement. Where a provider is located outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not sell your personal data.
5. Retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes above. Invoicing and accounting records are kept thereafter for the retention period required by applicable Belgian law. Other data is deleted or anonymised once it is no longer needed.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian supervisory authority, the Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (APD/GBA). To exercise any right, contact support@borrowproof.com.
7. Cookies and changes
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, together with privacy-friendly aggregate analytics to measure overall usage. The service is not intended for minors. We may update this policy from time to time; the date above shows the current version. See also our Terms of Use or get in touch via our contact page.
